Women Empowerment Cell organized a Healthy recipe cooking competition for the staff of GITAM as a part of Master Chef 3.0 in collaboration with F& B dept. of GITAM at GIMSR Café on Sept 13th. There are five teams participated in the event.
GITAM Centre for Health and Wellness Innovation (CHWI), Women Empowerment Cell (WEC), Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Community Medicine, GIMSR and Department of Life Sciences GSS, Visakhapatnam successfully hosted a unique “Nutrition Awareness Campaign” on 24th September 2024 in celebration of National Nutrition Month.
The event aimed to enhance awareness and promote healthy nutrition practices within the GITAM community. Participants from GITAM Hospitality, Avani Organics Millet Baker, Amogam Foods, Maiee Foods, Millee Box, Sita’s Kitchen and Starlite Nutrition prepared and showcased a variety of delicious and nutritious food. Food Science students have been involved in the event to learn from entrepreneurs about the practical aspects of presenting healthy recipes in the market. The event is an example of integrating education with empowering people to learn about the broad spectrum of healthy recipes. The focus was on fostering healthy eating habits while maintaining its taste and quality.
Additionally, the event aimed to empower women entrepreneurs and homemakers through nutrition education, debunking myths about nutritional labels, and engaging participants in nutrition-themed games. Overall, the event offered a delightful combination of knowledge, delicious food, and fun. The Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, Dean of Campus Life, Director of hospitality and Director of sports inaugurated the exhibition.
