International Women’s Day 2023: International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8th every year, not only to support and help women going through different social and economic struggles but also to uphold their achievements, recognize extraordinary efforts and courage, and encourage other women to achieve more. This year, following the directives of the UGC, Ministry of Education, Government of India, notice D.O.No.2-712023 (CPP-II) dated 1st February 2023, International Women’s Day is celebrated to mark and recognize the efforts of women by presenting “Nari Shakti Puraskars” at the national level to recognize exceptional work undertaken toward women's empowerment. Honoring this initiative, the Women’s Empowerment Cell on behalf of GITAM University took the privilege of conducting events along similar lines and presented awards to women who have done remarkable work in various fields.
